Quagga Mussel found at more sites
The highly invasive Quagga mussel (Dreissena rostriformis bugensis) has now been found at 9 sites in the London area including the Wraysbury River and Wraysbury Reservoir.

The Environment Agency routinely measure and monitor the environment to assess the water situation across the Hertfordshire and North London Area. September was a dry month with little rainfall.

River Pinn Restoration Project
Works to the River Pinn in Eastcote includes creation of two backwaters in areas where a meander and a backwater used to be prior to channel modification (carried out in the 1930's). Planting of wetland plants will be taking place on Saturday 27th September.

Chilterns Chalk Streams Annual Conference
Local organisations with an interest in preserving our rare chalk streams will be gathering at the Boxmoor Trust tomorrow to review progress, look at restoring flows to chalk streams, learn about the Colne Catchment Action Plan and the exciting River Fly partnership.
